As an example, I've made a wall and assigned weatherboard as the material both inside and out. In elevation settings and section settings I've checked vectorial 3d hatching is on.
In the elevation and section views, the vectorial hatching doesn't appear.
What am I doing wrong here? I'm assuming you don't need to go and draw another fill shape over the elements - this would seem problematic when you are generating elevations of more complex forms.
Thanks for your help.

Marty:
Does the vectorial hating appear for other materials in the section/elevation windows?
In the Materials Settings dialog box for the weatherboard material is there a Fill assigned under the Vectorial Hatching panel? Is the Element pen set to a white color pen?
Under Model View Options > Override Fill Display > is Override Cover Fills checked?

Thanks again David.
Two things were at play. Override cover fill setting as you noted and the individual elevation didnt have vectorial fills checked (ie it was only checked in the settings drop-down)
Thanks again
