Fix found: Archicad 28 lagging issues

Not a question but rather a solution if anyone has similar problem.

Using Archicad 28 with CI Tools (Aus/NZ) I was modelling a roof using Roof Tile.

I usually use the Shingle Tile cladding but thought the Roof Tile was more accurate for the job.

After applying the cladding anything I tried doing in 2d on a layout like dragging elevation viewports around or dragging text boxes took unbelievably long to click select and drag.

Reverting the roof cladding to the shingle instantly solved the lag problem.

Hope that helps someone with similar issues.

Operating system used: Windows 11 24H2

For a shingle, Archicad only has to calculate one flat slab.

For every tile there are many many polygons in 3D and extra lines in 2D.

It may also be defining and calculating the tile fill in 2D.

The less detail you can get away from modelling, the faster Archicad will be.

Though it should not be redrawing the shingles when moving things around on the Layout without resizing anything?

AC28 has made 3D navigation extremely slow i've discovered.

Using the same file in AC26 and AC28; AC26 can load a 3D full of textures, metal cladding, etc. instantly. Open the same file in AC28 and it takes 30-60 seconds to generate.

Even simply unlocking a layer is causing a full 3D regeneration....
