General Roof Advice

At first I had been doing my roofs by setting the "roof thickness" parameter to the size of my rafter. That was fine for awhile while I was first learning but it aways bugged me that this made my fascia too tall.

Now that I'm starting to work on making my sections and other things more accurate I've started setting that parameter to the sheathing thickness then using the roof wizard to add rafters. The first problem I come across with this method is that the rafters get placed on top of the roof. I can change the elevation of one or the other and make it look right, but that's kind of a pain. I was wondering if there is something I'm missing to make the rafters go below the roof. Also, in general, how do y'all work with roofs.

Thanks,
Rick

I have seen the options at the bottom of the SEO window but I don't think I've ever tried to use them right after performing an SEO that didn't work right for for me. I'll try being more careful next time and see how that works for me.
Sometimes when using these "Undo" functions of the SEO, I have had to rebuild the 3D Window to see the correct result.

I'm mainly using it in sections that auto-rebuild.

Even in Sections set to auto rebuild, I have found that I need to invoke the Rebuild command to see the result of undoing SEOs, this is not the case when creating the SEO.

I seem to be noticing that as well now that I'm messing with it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I can undo trim to roof easily enough, but I'm still having trouble undoing SEO's.

Don't use SEOs.

"Don't use SEOs."

Yeh, but then the whole universe, as I know it, collapses into a black hole.
(And I'm too young to die that way).

Maybe it was SEOd out of the fabric of the universe? 😉

The entropy is going to get us anyway ... so enjoy what you can!

Actually I think you mean all light/energy beams that leave this planet/or other places are going to entropy, as long as they are not interrupted by some other force(s).

And actually for photons/energy that left some other galaxy a long time ago that now hits Earth, Earth is it's entropy, everybody off the bus.
