Dear Archi-Talkers,

Graphisoft has uploaded the "Construction Equipment" and the "Garden Works" libraries on GDLCentral website. The "Building Textures" and the "Street and Traffic" libraries will also be available soon for free download.

The original version of these libraries were released as part of the "Graphisoft Collection" series for ArchiCAD 5.0 and 6.5 versions. Now we have updated them for 8.1 to provide full compatibility with the latest ArchiCAD version. The following new features were introduced in the library parts:

- Web conform object names
- Graphisoft standard parameter names
- Parameters organized into hierarchy
- Correct subtype set for each object

Note: Since all the objects were renamed the updated library is not compatible with the original Graphisoft Collection library. The new version is made for ArchiCAD 8.1 and later releases.

To download the libraries please visit http://www.gdlcentral.com

I would say that because the names are changed that the new library IS compatible with the old one.

It can be used without fear of altering existing uses of the old library, and it can be loaded along with the previous version in older projects without generating duplicate parts problems.

Tibor,

Could you post here when the other libraries are released?

Its a good thing that someone can download full libraries in a single zip/hqx file.
I wish the same for all the other libraries in GDL central because downloading one object at a time with gdl explorer takes a lot of time.

I agree - convenient, and some very good content in there.

Since it is all free anyway, perhaps GS could just create a "GDLCentral Goodies" folder on the next distribution CD and put the entire content of GDLCentral there for everyone to access easily. I think it would fit?

I agree. We will do it for all the libraries on GDLCentral.

Unfortunately there is no free space left on the ArchiCAD CD. Maybe when we will ship AC on a DVD...

ArchiCAD on DVD with the all the goodies such as GDL Central librarys, etc would be great. Since Archicad V7 anniversary edition here in australia archicad has taken the first step by packaging in a DVD case. So the next step is the DVD itself.
