Am I missing something or is this the way it works?

AS far as I can see there is a separate field for setting the marker size in 3D, in the 3D View panel of the Grid Element Settings Dialog.
Select all grid Elements in 3D and go to the settings Dialog to change it.

Laszlo, I cannot find a setting in that window.
I'm looking at the wrong one?

Change that square marker icon to circle and the size field to its right will become enabled.
You will have to uncheck the Show As Line checkbox too.
But maybe that will not be what you are looking for.

Unfortunately, that box controls the cross section of the line...
I just don't get why they mixed in 3d.
They should maintain the same spacing of the 2d.
If this is the way it works, so be it.
Thank you.

In that case I would say it is a bug, but an inconsistency at least.
I report this to Graphisoft.
