License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Grid Lines in Reflected Ceiling Plans

So I have been making the RCPs for this project according to this video:

http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/videos/archicad/documenting/3d-document/archicad-17-new-features-fl...

The issue that I notice here is that when this document is created, it doesn't take any 2D line work into the 3D document for the RCP. Seeing as our structural grid lines are 2D line work, our RCPs are now without grid lines. Is there a way to make 2D information transfer to the RCP?

Draw the grid lines with the structural grid tool and they will show.
2D work won't.

Ah I suppose I mis-spoke there. Our column grid is made from the structural grid tool. However it doesn't show in the RCPs. I've turned the layer on. It seems that unless you are zoomed out far enough that you see the Grid bubbles when you create the 3D document, the grid will not come through in the RCPs. Is there a way to redefine the 3D document so that the grid will show or will I have to recreate the drawing?

I believe you also have elevate the grid system to be above the RCP cut plane.
It's all a bit of a work around really. If you have a multistory building it would be impractical with this method. Personally I use the layer system to draw my ceilings with view sets, pen sets and MVO settings on the floor plan window.
HTH.

You could also use the Curtain Wall tool to create ceiling grids.

Also, there is an object developed by Graphisoft available on BIMComponents called Ceiling Editor.

These are very versatile objects.
