Guide Line disappears right after being placed

I've placed a horizontal Guide Line in a section. I need to place another one, just 12.8mm below the first. The moment I position it and click the mouse, it disappears. I can move the first one to where I want the second one to be; but then, when I go to add another one where the first one was, then that one disappears the moment I have fixed it by clicking the mouse. In the screenshot below, the thicker one is the one that disappeared the moment I let go of the mouse button, to nail it in place. It was meant to be 12.8mm below the other (faint) one.

Anyone noticed this behavior? I am on Hotfix 27.2.2 (build 5060) and have had a few issues in the last days.

If you are moving the guide line with the orange handle then you must press CTRL or OPTION (Mac?) to move a copy.

Otherwise dragging a new guide line onto the screen should not delete others.

Pretty sure there is an invisible Minimum offset distance required for Guide Lines. Think I noticed it back in AC19, that if you move / copy a Guide Line within like 50mm of another, it just vanishes once you release. I have a layer called 2D Construction for this sort of thing.

I just tried in 27 (build 5060) and I can drag copies less than 1mm apart.

Good to know that they have updated that. Wonder what is different for Alex then since he's using the same build...

Thanks, good to know I am not being silly.

Apart from that, I fail to comprehend the logic dictating the tool that is Guide Lines must be programmed with such a limitation.

Actually you just need to press CTRL and not hold it.

It is the same as drag a copy.

Hi both,

I tried again after Barry's screenshot above and still couldn't get them close together - I ended up moving the original instead of duplicating it. Then I rebooted my laptop and now I can place Guide Lines as close as 0.1mm (yes, mm) apart from each other.

Thanks again.
