Maybe you're right, Dan, but that add-on does so much more than I'm talking about (and is *so* expensive) that I can't imagine that building in the ability to do really basic ductwork modelling would hurt them *that* much. People who only have a need for basic modelling like me aren't going to invest in that add-on, and the ones who do really need it aren't going to be impressed by or able to function with a few rudimentary tools built in.
I mean, we've got things like basic plumbing elbows, which I personally see no use for; so why not ducts?
IMO, leaving this out is like leaving out doors or windows, or all furniture, and expecting people to buy an add-on just to do basics. Like it or not, ducting makes a *major* design impact, and so, IMO, is definitely not just the domain of the engineers. We still all go out and buy additional objects and add-ons when the basics don't do the trick, but at least for those of us to whom a lot of detail or customizability in some of these things is not critical, at least we've got *something* to work with, at least to start with.
