Practicing beams and slabs.
When creating a slab, I press space to automatically find the boundary, but it doesn't seem to recognize the column.
How can I recognize columns as boundaries?

You can't.
You need the walls to be continuous through the column (the column will cut the wall if the building materials are stronger).
But still it will magic wand to the walls and ignore the column.
Or add lines around the columns.
Or manually place the slab.

It's a beam, not a wall.
This means that the beam must also be continuous.
In my opinion, it's hard to understand why columns are excluded when finding slab boundaries.
It seems to be archiCAD's mistake. ^^

Yes the beams must be continuous then.
Columns do not have a horizontal reference line like walls and beams, and it seems the perimeter of the column is ignored - I don't know why.
Probably just because they are not a linear element.
So there is noting to magic wand to.
