If you want to offset a new arc, use one of the offset construction methods (1 and 2 in image attached) and magic wand the original arc.

If you want to offset an existing arc, select the arc, then click and hold and pet palette will appear, offset at far right (3). You can then drag it or input the new radius (R value).

s2art,

I want to offset a new arc, and I used the construction methods you specified with the magic wand. Sometimes it works, but sometimes I don't get the offset when I do the magic wand and it just copies the same arc on top of the first). Do I need to reset to one of the 2 construction methods each time? Or do I have to be careful to put the magic wand in a certain spot on the arc?

Hmm... not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

Thanks,
Scott

The fastest way to offset an arc is to select the first arc and "drag a copy" in place, without moving the copy. The copy will stay selected and easily offset with the pet palette,

My favorite method:
  • Eyedropper the circle.
  • Hit the "o" key.
  • Press spacebar and click on the arc (Magic Wand)

Or you can choose the Multiple Offset option if you want to offset several element in one go.
