INT Niche object bug?

I'm trying to use the W Niche 11 object from the AC11 Int library. On the floor plan and set to Symbolic, it shows a pink fill that I can't get rid of or access in any parameters. The wall is set to Cut Only.

Set to anything but Symbolic, the fill disappears, but then I don't get the needed contour between the niche and the wall.

This fill behaves like a drafting fill. If I turn those off with the Model View Options for Fills and Zones dialog, it disappears. But I need other drafting fills!

And I cant find ANY f****ing parameter, pen, fill or whatever in this object or in the wall that explains this.

A clue might be that if I set Drafting Fills to Solid, using the same dialog, all the other windows also get a pink fill that I can't explain.

Edited: I found a pink Plan Symbol Fill Pen among the 2D representation parameters for the window (not the niche). No 19 in my pen set is pink! But there is no Plan Fill Symbol Pen parameter for the Niche object. Doesn this mean that I have to have a white pen 19 to use this library? Isn't pen 91 the white standard?

See below, But this is of course not what I want!

What am I doing wrong? Or is it a bug?

Now I'm answering myself, like some others. As a beta tester for AC10 and AC11, I should have remembered, because this was discussed frequently. GS some time changed the default pen sets (most of them) to have pen 19 as white, instead of 91 which it was earlier. Since we standardized long before, we've kept pen 91 as white.

I've been able to change the parameters of objects as I wanted, so this hasn't bitten me like this until now, with an object that doesn't have this parameter accessible, and also doesn't have other cover fills that obscure the problem.

I still have a question for y'all though:
Since I'm not into GDL, is there a niche object that works somewhere, or is there a simple way to fix this one?

Hi Thomas,

It should be fairly simple to edit it so it works the way you would like.

See attached image.

First open up the niche library part (ctrl shift and O) Simply uncheck the X on the left-hand side on both the gs_fill_niche and gs_fill_pen_2 then 'file' 'save as'.

Give it a new name and location (in a loaded folder).

Check the settings of the new part. You should notice that you have two extra parameters to adjust the fill type and pen.

Hope that helps!

Pete.

Thanks, Peter. Easier than I could imagine. Wonder why GS forgot?
