Info Box & Favourites Pallet conflict

The Problem:
after I've selected and used a favourite ( say, the text tool) the Info Box "freezes" and will continue to show the text tool settings even if I select another tool via the toolbox or with the eyedropper. This happens regardless of the tool I've selected from the favourites pallet. It does not stop me from using the next selected tool, but as I do so the Info Box is still showing the previous tool. Bringing up the new tools Settings Pallet does not update the Info Box. I have several Favourite Pallets set up ( thanks Woody) and all operate the same.

The Work Around:
If I run the cursor back to the Favourites Pallet and click it usually clears the tool and the Info Box immediately updates to the current tool. Since I toggle the Favourites Pallet it often requires more actions than just the extra move and click.

This happens whether I'm working on the iMac G5 in Tiger or on the G4 in Panther

Possible Solutions: ???

Cheers,
Wally

I know this is a bit late but I have been out of touch for awhile. It may not be related, but I had problems with the info box and favorites pallette that would cause some problems that might be related. I work on two monitors and moved these two dialog boxes away from each other to solve the problem. It was a while back but seemed to have to do with making changes in the info box and then moving the curser over the top of the favorites pallet. Possibly un-related, but thought I would throw it out.

Thanks Mike,

knock on wood, that seems to have corrected whatever was happening between those pallets. Previously the Favourites pallet was docked up against a Toolbar that was below the Info Box. Since I've moved it down an inch the Favourites works like I always thought it should. Strange behaviour.

Cheers,

Definitely some sort of bug. I recall it was causing archicad to freeze up on me. I reported it, but I don't think they believed me.

it happens all the time to me. i must admit i haven't made the connection between the docked versus un-docked palettes - i'll give it a whirl . . .

Another change to the Favourites is that now when I run the cursor over the pallet it doesn't show the various favourites in the Info Box. Previously each "overflown"
tool was reviewed in the Info Box. Now, it takes a single click to activate the preview and a double click, as usual, to activate the Favourite.

I'll take it the way it is now ! A suggestion to someone who's beta testing 10 on a Mac would be in order I guess.
