Hi,

I'm looking at the Interior Elevation option for a hospital job, to do Room Data Drawings. Can I not put dimennsion on the drawing once it has been generated, I need to put height sizes for objects on walls, ie light switches, mirrors etc.......

Can anyone please give me some info or the best way to deal with this.

You can select with the marquee everything in your interior elevation window copy and them paste it on the plan.Be aware that any vectorial hatch will be exploded to lines. You can also save the interior elevation as a pln file and place it as a module in your drawing for further detailing. This way you can update the interior elevation and save it over the pln file

Thanks for the reply.

Pity these veiws can not be saved into view sets.

I can save as PMK files and create a new plotmaker workbook, which would help if updated info. But the fact that I can not work on the generated views is very poor, ie dimensions, fills, etc.......(this maybe getting sorted as we speak)

The tool is very redundant for me, unless I do a very long winded work around.

i use lines on elevations to keep dimension lines there as they were created earlier. it seems that you have to start line dimension process from the line you have drawn there and then continue to other objects. the dim line stays there as long as you keep the line you have drawn in the first place.
maybe you have to use some more lines to keep the dim.line values
i hope that helps

I have not found the interior elevetion tool to be usable. I recommend placing sections with limited depth and height for your interiors. I use the room number plus a letter in the ID field (i.e. INT101A, INT101B, INT324A, etc.) so that the drawings and views are easy to find in the lists.

I agree. This system works well. And place an elevation marker in the room too.

Just fighting with some bathrooms, and agree wholeheartedly!

The only advantage of the Interior elevation (if and when it works) can be the foldout view of a curved wall ... but that does not happen (yet?)

From the dialog in this post using AC 12 it is indicating the Interior elevation command is not usable.

spending the last 2 hours trying to make it usable, crashing a dozen times, I find myself here at this post.

The help files and archiwiki iindicate a usable sub-routine.

Can someone elaborate as to why the placing of ie does not work?

platform?

thank you .......... |:-)

I actually haven't found the IE tool to be too bad.... It takes awhile to find the right marker and get it set properly, but once you do, it seems to work okay. For editing, it helps to set the elevations to be "Drawings," rather than "Automatic rebuild."
