Is Archicad CRAP with selecting elements in 3d view ?

I am doing a lot of facade roof details at the moment.
every element has a different eleveation, so not all elements are showing on plan.
But I really want to just click elements in 3d view and move them.

But i have spent half my time today moving my mouse, trying in vain to find some hook point on elemensts, so i can select them.
As a 3d program ???? how is it soooo sooo bad in allowing 3d view selection...

or is there a trick to click.

Whoa, easy ...

1. are you looking at the whole model or just the facade part? make your computer happy and take the part that you want to work on in a fat marquee, and hit F5

2. Is the Magnet icon on the Info box on or off?

cool thank you for the fast response.
one more quick question.
becasue the elements are at all different elevations, how can i see them on plan ?
some show, some are just dotted yellow lines and then others, not seen ?

thanks.

How the elements show - or don't - on the plan depends on which storey they are (not by level, which storey they depend to) and what are their plan settings

The magnet is in the Arrow tool Info box. Holding down Space toggles it on and off. Does anything turn green when you hover the mouse over it? then it's on. If it does not, it's off.
