LOTS OF APARTMENTS IN ARCHICAD

Hello everyone

I'm new in archicad.

I have a new project, that i can make a lot a equal apartments.

In autocad, i make the architecture of the apartment and turn the architecture to a block. Then i copied 10 times, for example...

But if i want change anything in the "mother" block, then i change to every block that i copy in my project.

How can i make the same thing in archicad?

I'm sorry if my english is not the best.
I hope i'm clear...

Save a copmplete apartment as a MODULE (.mod) file.
Then you can insert this module in a new project as many times you wish.
If you must change some element, open module file and do it. The change will be visible in that new project with modules inserted.

A good trick for this is to set up a file for creating all the unit types (assuming there are more than one). Place each unit on a separate story all aligned to the project origin in the same (or a consistent) way. You can then use the Publisher to export all these as separate modules.

Having the common origins is useful for allowing you to change modules on the fly. You can easily select a Unit 12A for example, switch it to a 12B in the module settings and it will pop right into the same place

One advantage the Publisher gives over hotlinking the PLN directly is that you have precise control of the layers included in the modules. It may not be immediately obvious but this is a big plus.

Another is that you can detail all your unit plans in the source file which allows you to draw at the enlarged scale without having to mess with layers or worksheets in the main file. The Publisher technique is important for this so you don't have to fuss with hiding in the main file the layers used in the unit plans for notes, dims, common walls and such. You just exclude them from the layer combo used to publish the modules.
