another way is to use your special snaps . . .
it involves placing the line longer than you need first - next set up your special snaps to show increments by 'distance' and enter the value of the distance you need.
hover your mouseover the end of the arc that you want to measure fromand the snaps points will appear. grab the other end of the line and stretch back to it. be quick!
