Hello!
We need to do the MEP modeling of an HVAC project and we are unable to model circular ducts with customizable diameters, as they are always limited by the predefined dimensions according to the standards embedded in Archicad.
While when we design a rectangular duct, we can define its dimensions as we model, this does not happen with circular ducts, which ends up taking a lot of time and is very unintuitive. Is there a way to create a "custom" field to assign the dimensions?
It is worth mentioning that we are not HVAC designers and we only want to model in 3D the project that was given to us in 2D to coordinate specialties. Thank you very much in advance if anyone can help!

Hi @marianadesm
You can define the dimension tables from Options> Project preferences> Route specifications...
Check this help article: https://help.graphisoft.com/AC/28/INT/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0#t=_AC28_Help%2F085_MEPDesigner%2F...
Best regards.

Hi,
In my version, I can use Flexible Duct27 and have the parameter for inner width, which is editable:
Also, in the submenu you showed, I had the option for diameter:
Are you using a localised version of archicad? In my file I do not see any pre-loaded dimensions for the routes.

Hi!
I believe the only way is through the Options> Project preferences>Route specifications..., as @Ricardo Lopez said, and we have to add the values we need to the content.
Unfortunatly, it's not so quick as it was in Archicad 26, where we could change the diameter as we were modeling.
I just have that parameter with the Flexible Duct.
I believe the fact we have different parameters is related with the fact that we are using AC28 and, for what I see, you're using AC27.
Thank you for your help!

We face the same issues that @marianadesm adressed. and tried Options> Project preferences>Route specifications... but we can only edit dimensions in rectangular ducts end not in circular ducts.
for some reason it's not editable in circular ducts

If you click on the duct level (root), you can add a new nominal diameter (DN), so that when you edit the circular dimension of the duct segment, the new diameter will be available as well as its wall thickness and description.
