Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Archicad?

Can anyone from G_soft say anything assuring about AC11 working under the about-to-be-released Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?

I decided to take the plunge and am having no problems on Leopard so far. I tested it on my Mac mini first and installed on my MacBook Pro after I finished my last big project. I'll be sure to post back here if anything bad happens.

Hi Matthew,

Is you Mac Mini a Mactel ? a recent model with Intel inside ?

Without Dwg-Dxf import ... it seems to be OK ...

Best regards.

I’ve started a list already. It's not complete... But here it is in its current form:
  • 1. When multiple ACs are open, Command-Tabbing between apps doesn’t show the name of the file over the ArchiCAD icon like it did before.
    2. It’s not easy to have multiple ACs open in different “spaces.” It is a manual process to drag each window of an instance of AC to the other “space.” You should probably just keep all ACs in a single “space.”
    3. iChat Screen Sharing is a DREAM!!!
    • a) First, both Macs need to go under the iChat preferences to the video tab and set the bandwidth limit to something like 500kbits or 1Mbit. BOTH Macs need to do this.
      b) You must initiate either a text, audio or video chat (text probably best—and say something like, “I’m staring the screen sharing process.”) and the the screen sharing icon at the bottom of the Buddy List for that user becomes available and you can then either share your screen or ask to share theirs. They will have to approve/accept either option of course.
      c) iChat’s audio chat automatically turns on allowing both parties to talk to each other while screen sharing (REALLY cool that it does it automatically)
      d) And, unlike most all other screen sharing peer-to-peer apps, iChat does NOT require either party to configure port passing nor be in front of a firewall. It just works!!! ...as easy as video chatting!
      e) And here’s he kicker... The smart icons all work on the remote screen! No more permanent check arrows. You get checks, mercedes symbols, pencils, crosses, etc.!!!
As for System level stuff... I do notice it is a tad sluggish in the Finder. I have to relaunch my Finder every now and again to fix stupid little quirks and bugs.

I still have more testing to do, but it seems like AC11 (and 10) is running at an operational level. The iChat screen sharing for me is the most useful aspect of this as a reseller/techsupporter. It puts all other apps like GoToMyPC, VineWare and even my favorite of all time Timbuktu to shame.

However, as GS has said, it's not officially compatible yet until a patch comes out, so upgrade at your own risk.

It's a Mactel (as is my MacBook Pro of course).

Both have DWG/DXF IO loaded but I haven't imported or exported any DWGs yet.

On point #1 if you use the new Spaces feature you also loose the project name on the icon. It also does not behave consistently when switching back and forth.

G5 is PPC so I don't think it will work.

Well, yes, it doesn't work in Spaces either... but even without spaces turned on, the ArchiCAD icon when accessing the App Switcher (Command-Tab) never shows the name of the file like it did in Tiger.
