Can anyone from G_soft say anything assuring about AC11 working under the about-to-be-released Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?

Ok well thats strange ... mine were working on 10.4 too but weren't after i upgraded. I also tried downloading the latest updates from Maxon but these aren't working either ... freak coincidence maybe.

Out of interest how did you upgrade to 10.5 .. Upgrade, Archive & Install or Erase & Install?

I did an Archive & Install upgrade.

Regular Upgrade, the other possible difference is that I'm not running AC's 10.8x update. I had to downgrade to the 1040 since I can't do copy/paste between sections.

You guys realize that GS has not certified AC 11 for operation under Leopard yet, right? No word yet on when the hotfix for this will come out, but they recommend that users stay on 10.4 or below for now.

This is not a GS problem, as the release version of Leopard behaves differently than the final beta that Apple released to developers. This has bitten quite a few software firms.

But, your bug reports will help them - so keep sending them in!

Yeah I wasn't expecting it to be all smooth sailing but it has been surprisingly calm so far. I would be interested to see the stats on bugs found by users v GS .. sometimes i think we are all just GS's guinea pigs.

Anyway i have a pile of apps other than ArchiCAD i have to check out on Leopard. I'm prepared in the event of a major catastrophy - nightly backups and a bootable 10.4 clone on a FirewireHD. I won't blame GS if anything goes wrong ... well at least not until after they have said its all ok

Actually is there any chance of getting this thread merged into Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and AC11? ?

In hindsight i should have posted there .. makes sense to have just one thread discussing AC+Leopard and any bugs we find.

I upgraded to Leopard and it seems like the bundle file for the Artlantis export is not being read by AC11, is there a way to fix this.

You may be able to fix this yourself. I don't know the reason for this, but under 10.5 ArchiCAD will not recognise a bundle as an add-on if it lacks a 'PkgInfo' resource. You can easily fix this by doing the following:
  • 1) Open the package of a working add-on (right-click on the add-on and select 'Show Package Contents'
    2) You should see a folder called "Contents". Open this folder.
    3) Select the file called 'PkgInfo' and copy it (Edit/Copy)
    4) Open the package of the non-working add-on and open the Contents folder
    5) Paste the 'PkgInfo' file into the Contents folder (Edit/Paste).
    6) Close the add-on package again (i.e. close the window).
You should not find that ArchiCAD sees the Add-on and uses it as normal.

Ha..too easy .. thanks for that Ralph!

I've emailed Maxon back with your discovery - should be a quick fix.

On a side note Maxon had emailed me back by last night, which i guess was the next business day - allowing for the weekend and them being in Germany. THAT is how support should be..at least letting your customers know it hasn't dissappeared into some black hole even if you don't know what the fix is at the time

Post here if you get this resolved. I am having the same problem with the ArchiCad Exchange ".bundle" on Leopard with Archicad 10 not being recognized. I tried the "copy/paste" fix , but it did not work. Did you resolve it that way?
