Mac option-copy drag and shift-ortho drag stopped working

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have tested other applications and since the majority of Mac apps all work the same, the Mac option-copy drag and shift-ortho drag still work. It is only a AC problem.

I have tried to change the work environment to the Standard Profile 11 but that doesn't help.

I have tried a New and Reset and that doesn't help.

Maybe I accidentally clicked a keyboard command that turns these options off.

I have tested it on many Mac apps including other CAD apps like Rhino. The shift and option drag still works on all of those.

Archicad 9 and 10 have then same problem.

So far it seems to be an archicad problem.

unfortunately restarting has no effect.

Here is what I have tried and none of them has solved the problem.

1. tried a different USB keyboard
2. tried the mouse pad instead of a wired mouse
3. trashed ALL the preferences
4. trashed Archicad and reinstalled from disc
5. applied all Archicad 11 updates

Nothing helps. Any other ideas?

Well, its now been 2 days of no work.

I not only have limited efficiency without being able to option and shift drag but without command clicking roofs I can't make them intersect.

I am only hoping that someone can help me or I am going to have to stop working and call my clients and tell them I can't make the deadlines!

Funny, I was just loging out of my user account when I got your post.

AND...... yes, everything works fine in my test user account.

Now I have to figure out what to trash or reinstall in my main user account.

Any ideas?

Have you installed any mouse drivers? Specially Logitech's?
Any Norton, Quicken products?

It looks as if a preference might be corrupted. Since the new account works then it is something withing your ~/library/preferences folder. You can move all the preferences out of that folder except com.apple.XXX and keep adding them back until you find the culprit.

No new mouse drivers.
No Norton.
Yes, new Quicken 2007.

I will try and play with the preference folder..... ugh.

You can also try recreating your user account in the new one by copying your ~Library/Application Support and your Preferences to the new account to see when it gets frakked.

It was time to take out the trash!!

I went thru and deleted everything I wasn't using anymore.

And now its working again.

For anyone else that has this problem in the future, the possible culprits for me were:

JSM Settings for and "EZ Keyboard"
SuperDuper
Remote Desktop
Quicken 2007
Artlantis
Syphone
Bommerang
iShowU
Opera
Little Snitch
Signal
Palm Hotsync
TinkerTool
Missing Sync

I was too frustrated to figure out exactly which one was the issue but since I do not use them then.... whatever! 🙂

I deleted/uninstalled all of these and waaalaaa AC is working again!
