Material settings not transferred by Attribute Man or .pla's

We have been experiencing difficulties with 2 things to do with materials

Firstly, Attribute Manager.
We find that it does not bring in all the properties of a material (texture, transmittence, scale of texture etc) in both open GL dialogue and Lightworks Render settings. (Both projects use the same libraries). Some materials imported from another project using AM will have no texture and will render as black.

Secondly, Archived projects (pla's)
Similarly, if we archive a project from one machine, and open it on another (i.e. when we want to render on our most powerful machine), some of the materials do not turn out in the same way, and render black.

The first problem was a hassle, but the second is a worry, given that we all assume that a pla file saves all used attributes for future purposes.

Has anyone experienced this?

Interestingly, if we open another project and simply copy and paste (a wall, for example), the material comes in ok. This is our method instead of using attribute manager, but it is obviously not as efficient.

cheers,

loch

I'm probably pointing out the obvious - but are you remembering to load the appropriate texture libraries when you import your attributes?

First, you must import texture or mapping through LW, not through attribute manager.
Before rendering you must check what kind of rendering engine you use.
You have used probably AC-engine.

This was a problem with the initial release of ArchiCAD 9 (build 1812?). If you have not updated since installation, this is probably the problem. Under the Help Menu, click on Check for Updates...

If you should be running 2172 today. Material properties transfer properly with attribute manager now (and have since at least build 1965).

Thanks for the advice.
Thanks Karl... That was the problem. We have been a bit slack with the updates, were running on 1920. Cheers, loch
