Multi Story Windows

I have been trying to draw full height windows that begin on the 1st floor and continue into the mezzanine area. I am able to insert the proper sized windows from the 1st floor but they don't show up in the second. The frame does, but there is no opening. Please help!

Is the wall that the window is in also multistorey?

iv done it before by just cutting a wall opening in the wall above or below for the window to look like its sitting in.
