License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. as a admitted newby and archicad idiot.
i have written down a small list of all the simple and stupid questions that i would love answered.
If some one could help me with these, that would be a good push in the right direction for a starter.
Thanks guys.
Ian

(1) how can i setup a grid at project start easy, just say every 5 metres long and 5 metres high......

(2) How can I easily cut irregular shapes out of the side of a wall?

(3) How can i copy multiply a object around a circular form evenly ?

(4) How can I cut one shaft opening that will run through all the slabs?

(5) In profile editor, how can you draw a circle and subtract the circle shape from the exisiting hatched profile?

(6) Is Archipuppet available for archicad15 and does it cost money ?

(7) How can i make a kamera path for making a simple animation?

(8 ) Why do my massing objects not showi in 3d view, only in plan ?

Thanks a million for any help with these questions.
Thanks.
Ian

1. Use the Design\ Grid System command.

2. Check this Wiki article:
http://www.archicadwiki.com/ModifyTheSideContourOfTheWall
You will need to do a Subtraction Solid Element Operation instead of the Intersection mentioned in the article.

3. Use the Multiply command with the Rotate option.

4. Create the Slab that goes through all the Stories and use the Subtraction Solid Element Operation, with the "Shaft" element as operator, and the Slabs as Targets.

5. Check my answer to your other similar question (substitute Fill for Slab):
http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=194765#194765

6. I don't know.

7. Check the Documentation. Basically just place Cameras at key points, then specify path settings in the Camera Dialog.

8. If your massing objects are made of Zones, then go to the View\Elements in 3D View\Filter Elements in 3D Dialog. There Zones should be checked for them to appear in 3D ( or the element time you use for Massing).

You should be using the Help file and also do the Interactive Training Guides. A lot of these questions are answered there and more.

By now you've made a statement that you are working in a german version of archiCAD, and you are having a really hard time with that, and that you probably won't get an english version.

My recommendations are:
1) learn german
2) READ, but really READ, the Help & Documentation file. Is it in German also? It's no excuse... there's always the ONLINE help provided by Graphisoft here:
http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/documentation/
There are also interactive training guides that will set you on the right track. Like Laszlo said, they cover pretty much your questions and more. The archiCAD Help is one of the most complete I've seen in the industry. It is really thorough.

As for #4, if you want an object instead of a slab, you can check a simple object I made here:
http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=37367&start=11
the advantage is that it will self adjust to floor level-or-height change. It's not in the depository as it was nothing more than a simple experiment, but it works pretty well as a shaft... I'm actually using it like that.

Hope the help guide and its GUI screenshots help you sort out the langauge barrier. I can only assume is really frustrating.

Best regards.

It'll never happen. People always give them stuff in hopes to curry favor.

Right,

Like that great story in The Sopranos: "Luxury Lounge" where punk Christopher and duffus Little Carmine envy Ben Kingsley for the gift promotions he selects.
