Naming of views

Does anyone know of a way to stop views from including the reference ID and the autorebuild designation on the viewset names. It's becoming a pain to remove these for each section and elevation to use the autonaming feature in plotmaker. I'm not sure that I see a use for the reference ID in archicad if the detail is actually numbered in plotmaker. I would be great if autocad could read the plotmaker detail number and use that as the ID number in archicad.

The Reference ID is key for being able to find/sort details in large projects, sometimes with thousands of details.

This allows for a number-based sorting system, so all details of similar type (roof details, foundation details, etc) group together when signing in. This allows for true separation of the CAD data from the plotted data, so you can refer to a detail within the team regardless of what page it ends up on (I was just working on detail 1712, where did it go??)

That sounds like an interesting way to keep up with the details, but when placing the views in the view editor, do you manually remove the ID number for each detail? I would be nice if this number was ignored in the view sets and only the detail name was used for the title in plotmaker.

I agree. Maybe it could have a table-like structure, in which you can independently edit (and call from the drawing title) the ID and the name field.

That could also help with the symmetric problem you get when exporting PMKs of different views with the same name (which I often do when trying out different looks for a drawing). Even if they are in different views folders (like 'Floor Plans' and 'Floor Plans w/color'), the second 'Level 1.PMK' gets named something like 'Level 1 (2). PMK' (so that you have to explode and edit the drawing title in Plotmaker). If the views had the same names but different IDs in their separate, non-showing, field, none of this would happen.

[I am still using PMKs because I like knowing I have the ability of doing emergency PMK retouching if I notice a problem at the very last minute on a deadline.]

we've been using a custom GDL object for drawing titles, not using the Plotmaker Title Types. The name/number was one of many reasons. We found overriding them not only took a lot of time, it also made it impossible to later find details in Archicad.

I've been trying to figure out how to get the ID number and the name to extract them for use in the object, so users do not have to deal with typing in the name
