No hotels/motels anywhere near for a reasonable price, (around $100) that's not a drug neighborhood.
G.S. are you not aware we have been in a recession for the last 5yrs?
For the rich and well off, I'm sure they will love it.
For others, a more reasonably priced nice area of San Diego would have been a
better choice.
