Any chance you try to do in OpenGL? You have to do it in Internal Engine mode.

Jim,
Another way to get your image is -
while the 3D view is active, perform a >File >Save As, change the file extension to any image file format type (jpg, etc).
This creates an independent image file on your hard drive.
(remember or write down where it goes!)
Then use >File > External Content >Place External Drawing to place image file back into project.
I like this method because I can use Photoshop if necessary and I can control the exact pixel dimensions via the 3D Window settings or Photorender settings.

Thank you so much for your replies. I have narrowed down the problem. It seems to only happen when the 3D object has a material that is transparent. I've designed a series of plexi bonnets for a display system. Every time I generate a 3D view, cut and paste onto the 2D surface this happens, but only to the materials that are transparent. (see attachment) I've gone back to previous files and can copy and paste any transparent image with no problem. I've copied the slabs/objects from previous file and tried it in the latest version and have the same problem. I've even dumped the preferences in case the file is corrupted, still the same results.
I am working with the internal engine, not the Open GDL. I need to adjust the fills of the 3D image once in the 2D window, so an image file wouldn't work.
Thanks again for your help.
Jim
