Is there a way to set-up a key command to enter the tool options pep palette, select the feature you want and then return to drafting. For instance, I select the line tool and draw a line. I then want to make it a curved line. I would hit the key command to open and enter the line tool pep palette and use the arrow keys to move within the palette until I get the curved line tool highlighted. They hit return to accept and return to drawing. I think this feature would expedite drawing because you do not have to stop drawing, find the palette, move the mouse to to the palette and select the feature you want, then return to drawing.
