Perpendicular Roof Edges

I apologize if this is a redundant question, but here goes anyway. I want the fascia on a rake, but it creates two problems. 1. every time I reopen the drawing, all roof edges have reverted to plumb cut. and 2. the roof intersections at the peaks, as shown in elevation view and 3D are not good, (i.e. I want plumb cut at peak, but not at fascia). I'm hoping I have just overlooked a setting or something. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Lee D.

Set the edge angles individually using the edge pet palette, sixth button.

If you 'shoot' roof edges at each other using Cmd/Ctrl click, the angles will miter.

It you select contiguous roofs and click on a common edge, with the palette angle button you can set both edges to vertical or miter them.

It is very rare to use the angle setting in the settings box. Most roofs end up with different, and custom, angles.

Wow! Thank you, James. That was incredibly helpful, and quite easy. As usual, there is a simple and effective fix to my most daunting problems. I really appreciate your help.

Lee,

You are probably on ArchiCAD 8.1 R1 first release, build number 1307. This release had a bug: the perpendicular roof edge reverts to vertical after re-opening the file.
This bug is fixed in the update patch released in December (build 1410). You can download the patch here:
