Plan Scale VS Print/Plot Scale

I am wondering why should a set a particular scale (using Option->Floor Plan Scale) for the plan while i also set a Print/Plot scale which is also change the text sizes
Of course i always set a scale for my plans but can't understand why it should be 1:50 and not 1:1
In Autocad you don't have to set a scale when you make the model but only when you Plot, and it make sense.
Maybe i hearing a little silly but i don't know...

Think of the Archcad scale as a preview.
Archicad works on principal that text is real size ( some other things too such as cetain fills, and some objects) and the only way to preview that is to have a scale in Archicad. Printing to another scale is a stopgap option.

More importantly some objects control what parameters are seen dependant on scale. Again this cant be accomplished by printing scales.

And what is going to happens if ,as you progress in your plan,you find out that is necessary to change the scale of the plan.
And for the text you can set it to "Scale Sensitive" but what are the other object you said?

Yes certain was the intention

If you decide to change the plan scale then make sure you have the anchor points set to the appropriate location or you may find the text moves significantly.
Surely for your drawings you want the text to be the same size so I wouldnt let the text scale with the view.

You should save a view for every scale that you will or are working with.

The scale sensitive texts and annotation are a blessing and a curse at the same time - but your text and annotation, as well as the display of your objects (e.g. doors and windows, details on staircases) are automatic. Saves heaps of time.
