Please help me with a window opening.

Hi,
I need to create a window opening which has me stumped. It's a partially arched and semi-chamfered opening which is probably best described by the attached image. It's from a 19th century industrial building with very thick walls.
Many thanks for any and all help.

Short of creating or buying a new library part to accomplist this, use the Window tool to place the w Splayed Reveal and then a window in the same place.

Down and dirty... quick! If there aren't too many it's not too hard to do. You can drag copies of the two at once in the same wall.

JF,
In AC 8.1 and in AC 9, you can use Profiler to make
a shape with the stepped shoulder and chamfer with
an arch head.
Use the object in a SEO with the wall as target.

The problem with this method is one have to do some tweakings to make it looks right on plan. Thus I would rather save the profile as Window and insert into the wall.

LiHigh,
With your method, how do you get the hole in the wall
to have a shoulder and a splay ?

We can create a slab with contour matching the path of the splay profile and name the slab's ID "wallhole". Then save the slab as gdl obj..............form there just copy the Wallhole script and paste it to the Splay window.

LiHigh,
I did not know that one could assign the subtype "wallhole"
to an object in AC 8.1. I thought that only worked in AC 9.
Thanks,
