It may help you to know that a different Dimension Preferences can be saved with each View in View Settings. Many people have their Templates set up so that of the Views already have the appropriate dimension preferences needed.

One for the wish list when it resurfaces...

I do know that. But I want to transfer settings from a template to a file that was setup wrong. I have been able to export and import many other settings. I was hoping that I was missing something on how to do it. There are many little tedious details set in the Dimensions Preferences.

As far as I know it is not possible.
Even merging files do not bring the project preferences across.

Every time you configure/change a Dimensions Standard you can "Store As" and it will be there as an option when you open a new project with Latest Project Settings. Personally, I can't think of the last time I needed to load Dimension Standards in to a project that didn't have the ones I need. They always seem to be available or it is just a couple of key strokes to modify for some special use the Store As function. Just out of curiosity, why are you needing to load the dimension standards into a file that doesn't already have them?

I suspect that you don't use the Project Preferences for Dimensions the same way I do. I use them to check accuracy of added dims by changing rounding from the nearest 1" to 1/4" to 1/64". I will change the dims to display meters or mm, inches, feet and inches or just feet depending upon the project. As I work as a consultant, I receive many different configured project files that are not set up to make work more efficient. The ability to export and import Project Preference settings would greatly simplify my life. I don't have the luxury of working with my own preset template most of the time. This option should be a no brainer for Graphisoft to include.
People can talk about world peace and to solve the worlds problems all they want, but the simplest solution is to just use your blinker!

I use dimension just as you mentioned sometimes too. Yes, I agree, it would be very useful to Import-Export all of the Project Preferences.
