Hello,
I need my railing's first and last post to be placed roughly at the beginning and the end of railing's base line, accordingly. In other words, I want them to be spread evenly at the whole length of base line, at least in this simple case when the base line is just a single straight line.
Is it possible to achieve it and what settings do I need to use? I want to be able to set the number of posts, so AC calculates the distance between posts. I know how to input the number of posts, but the first and last posts just never lands on the ends of base line.
See the screenshot of what I was only able to achieve:

I suspect you have turned the end posts off and you are only seeing the inner posts spread as you have told them to be.
There is also an offset for the end post (node).

Thats more than I can do. Where do you set the number of posts...& why cant I set the length of my railing? It is stuck punching through the Posts. I'm really mystified as to why the stair and railing tool has to be so complicated.

Yep, that's the trick. Thanks as always, Barry.
It would be cool to be able to chain outer (node) post shape settings to the settings of the inner posts, so we don't have to manually set values for both of them when we want them the same, but I guess that's already a feature request 🙂

Thanks Barry,
That is helpful but I cant seem to find where to unlock the segment divisions? See attached pic.

That would be because you don't have any inner posts to distribute.
Add just one if you want to control the number of patterns in the segment, and that will become the length of the distribution pattern.
You can add more post - they will just sit inside the distribution length - you can set their distance from previous post.
Barry.
