Railing tool post display funny business

Bruce
Advisor
I have encountered what I am pretty sure is a bug in the railing tool...but I could just be missing a setting. Steps followed:

1. Create a straight static railing with 4 nodes, including the end nodes.
2. Change one end node vertically.
3. The post next to the 'bent' node will disappear.

See series of screenshots below.

Hi.
Both the stair and railing tools have a myriad of settings. It's a bit difficult to know what's going on without the whole context. Still... my best guess is that this is related to your segment and inner post's settings.
Check this video by master Eric Bobrow (and the other 2 new videos in his channel). There are some useful tips in the segment settings that might help you troubleshoot this.

Please post back if you fixed it, so other people searching for the same can see a solution.

Best regards.

Thanks sinceV6 - I've seen Eric's videos, which are a good resource. However, these are not Segment: Inner Posts, but Node: Posts. They should appear at every node.

If the handrail is cranked in plan - no problem. If there is no vertical crank - no problem. As soon as you bring the nodes in line so they form a straight handrail in plan, with a crank in the vertical plane, posts will start to disappear.

Do you have the latest update for Archicad?
I just had a quick look in build 5002 and I am not seeing the problem.

No, I haven't updated yet. I'll give that a go to see if it fixes the issue. Good thinking.
