License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Reno filter question

Not applicable
I've been tying to muck around with the reno filter but I can't seem to get it to do what I want. This is what we would like:

We have an existing wall with an existing window. We want to demo the window. We have it show up as dashed on our demo plans. That's fine. What I can't get it to do is show on the new construction filter as a shaded wall (25% fill or something). We want the wall area where the window was to have a fill, so it is obvious to the builder that they need to fill in the wall there.

Can this be done? We currently have 3 filters; existing, demo, new construction.

In the New Construction filter the opening will show as the wall's default settings, as if it was a new wall, so if the wall is set to empty fill, that is what will show. I don't know any way around this (short of placing a fill manually).

Steven:

In order to get the fill for the demo opening, in the Renovation Filter Options: New Elements must be set to Override with the Fill Type option selected in the Renovation Override Styles: New Elements dialog box.

Won't that make all new elements the same? Not always desirable, but if you can get away with it, go for it.

Yes, but it is the way to get the different wall fill where an opening is demolished.
