don't understand why roof plan line-work shows up everywhere but the layout book? using roof combination...

What you call the 'roof eave inside' line (the pivot line), is an on-screen line only - it will not show in layouts or prints (PDFs).

It will only show in plan.

There is an on-screen option to show or hide pivot lines in the plan view as well.
