Hi All,
Very happy I found this thread as I was looking in to the most efficient way to do the same thing and found the all the advice useful.
I will just add also, if you are doing a renovation as I am, to create a renovation filter that shows everything, as in existing, demo and new construction.
Aside from that, all the advice was helpful for me.

FYI: Archicad contains such a Renovation Filter by default. It is the "00 Show All Elements" Reno Filter. It will show all elements, regardless of Reno Status in a not-overridden state.
There is one exception: It will not show any element for which the "Show On Renovation Filter" field is set to a specific Renovation Filter. Those elements will be hidden in all Renovation Filters except the one they are specifically assigned to using the "Show On Renovation Filter" field.
