hi,

just want to know if anyone know how to rotate a slab vertically.. (i.e standing up straight). i am building a custom furniture, which has a odd shape, therefore i need to use the slab tool to create one of the sides for the furniture.

thank you.

just make the slab thicker? and stretch the sides to the shape you need. unless of course you need it at an angle - in which case use the roof tool . . .

Create your slab on the floor plan and set the 3D window to view the edge of your slab that would be the top of the piece as it is assembled on the furniture. > Image > 3D Engine Mode > Wire Frame. Select the slab and bring up the 3D window. You should be looking at the edge of the slab (top of furniture). > File > GDL Objects > Save 3D Model As.. > Name it accordingly and save it to an active library. Place it on the floor plan with the object tool.

Hope this helps. Sorry still on 9 and don't use ArchiCAD much anymore so it may have changed a bit in 10 or 11.

i may be missunderstanding the question... but use a 'wall' rather than a 'slab'? - before the days of slanting walls i used to say use the wall tool for vertical bits, the slab for horizonatl bits and the roof for slanting bits.

You'll also notice that walls can have custom profiles for even more sophistication since a mere tilted rectangle will look crude..
