I guess no one has figured out yet how Graphisoft numbers their versions.....It is based on the amount of time in minutes required to load Archicad out of the box....wait until version 35 comes out next year...but wow! what a lot of improvements....
Joking aside, libary usage has to be one of the biggest time consumers in loading - especially the non-archived versions. I accept the time needed to load some of my custom libraries as a trade-off for having the ability to add new objects on the fly. I don't have many other complaints except the way the graphics take a crap every once and a while and make me re-load Archicad about 6 times a day! But hopefully one day they will get it right. However, like Microsoft demonstrates we should always blame the hardware first.
BTW, are the programmers still architects and engineers or have they become the bosses only to hand over the programming to programmers who know little about architecture? Seems lately the improvements indicate the latter is more likely....
