Scale Sensitive Custom Windows in Elevation and Section

Anonymous

Hello all,

Just a little bit of a problem. I created a custom Louvered Grill window, and it seems that because it is highly detailed, it gives a lot of lines in elevations and sections, a tad too much for the scale intended. Is there a way to edit it out so that it does not show that much line in the elevation at, say, 1:100?

Thanks.

The sections is just as bad, although at larger scales it is better for details.

You have two choices really.

One is to model the window so that it best suits the scale you will usually want to see it at (i.e. 1:100).
Make it much simpler - simple flat slats for the louvers.
Then for your larger scale details you will need to add more detail - even to the extent of manually drawing a 2D detail.

The second choice is to become a GDL wizz.
Then you can script the object so that it is scale sensitive.
Basically you will have two (or more depending at how many scales you want to view it) objects in one so that at small scale it is simple louvers but at larger scale they become much more detailed.
This can be automatically achieved based on the scale of your section/elevation/detail.
But you will need to know your GDL.

Thanks Barry I think I would have to rebuild the object to suit the scale.
