Shift Key not working

On one of our workstations (Mac + OSX) the shift key has stopped working both in Archicad and Plotmaker.

We've tried restarting the programs, rebooting the machine etc.

The shift key works normally in other programs (Word, Excel etc.)

Can anyone help?

I have had this problem in the past. Found out it was/is Entourage, which takes over the keyboard when it is open in background. It also happened when other Microsoft apps were open. Upgraded to newer version of Office and it stopped

The problem went away as mysteriously as it appeared. Maybe it does have something to do with Entourage, as you suggest.
