Snapping to windows

Hi, I have a good number of years experience using Autocad Architectural desktop but have been persuaded to try Archicad 10. From the outset it looked very impressive but I have tried to do a simple project and I am already struggling. The problem I have found is the use of the snap tools. In Autocad you simply set what you want to snap to eg endpoint, intersection, midpoint etc hover the cursor over any type of object, the relevant symbol will appear eg triangle = midpoint, and click. You have snapped to the midpoint of whatever. This included the component lines of say a window. My particular problem is 'tracing' around the edge of a bay window. I inserted a bay window in a straight wall. I knew the overall width of the window and knew the splays were 45 degrees but rather than calculate the projection of the window I wanted to trace a wall around the window. So far I have found it impossible to snap to the edge of the frame or mullion etc, I can only snap to where the window cuts the straight wall. This has disappointed and frustrated me so far but I am sure there is a simple answer. If not I think I'll be reverting to Autocad Architectural desktop which will be a shame. Please please please somebody put me out of my misery.

Thanks
