Photo rendering is dark

I have two files opened with the exact lighting settings. 

 

File on the left shows decent 3D rendering 

File on the right shows complete darkness 

 

What am i missing ?

In the rendering settings. look to see it the sun and lights are turned on.

Thank you Barry...still darkness prevails. Wonder if it has to do with subscription thingy...

No, if it was about subscription, it just wouldn't work.

Maybe the well lit one has an internal general or area light source object?

And the darker one doesn't.

That will add extra light internally.

my tech guy updated with the correct US version and it is working now.

good to know it's not the subscription thing but still i'm anxious when i open ac when message pop..until then, all good now 🙂

Sorry, I didn't see the solution below.

Otherwhise my first thought was checking if the rendering engine (Standard or Redshift) is the same in both files. This is not saved in the rendering scene, nor saved with views. You have to check this manually every time you open a new file.
