Square (closed) railing not connecting properly

Used the railing tool to create a screen, but since it's connected (square) it doesn't connect properly. Here's how the edges look:

And here's the edge where the railings ends connect:

Instead of these 2 small squares there should be just one like the other edges. But I find no way in the options to "connect" this edge so it acts like the other ones. 

 

Is there a way?

It's a big oversight. Railing can't form a closed loop. I mean, they can, but the result will not be what you expect.

For situations like these I found the best way to make a railing connect better to itself to make this somewhere on a straight segment, NOT a corner node.

Was thinking about it but it'll spit these 2 smaller columns in the middle somewhere then and it's not what it should be either 😃
