Does anyone have a success story using the stair and railing tools? So far, unless I'm doing a super basic concrete basement stair or single run with no fancy trim/nosing/turning/etc., this is what I get more often than not:
Attempt 1 - railings with top rail as solid panel
Attempt 2 - stair stringer as solid panel
At least the stringer shows the full element, BUT is slanting weird, triangulated weirder, just simply doesn't work.

here's another amusing try... was this tool designed to not work on purpose?

In the "Railing Settings" Dialog's "Segment" page, in the "Segment Settings" panel, is the "Segment Slanting" value set to 90 degrees and "Relative to Vertical"?
From the screenshot, it looks like it is set to "Relative to Perpendicular".

yes, everything was vertical. All connections and ends were zero'd out. I spent way too long trying to get either the stair or railing to do this simple shape.
after about 3 hours, I gave up and used beams, converted to morphs, and adjusted to fit. I'd have thought a simple ellipse stair would be a home run for the railing tool... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

even trying from scratch on a simpler curve. There is just always something to these railings. They work when "good enough" is the target, but I don't think anyone is going to say this meets that mark:
