Steel Rib

Company I work for does steel buildings and I have been trying to get the steel rib effect on walls. Right now we use surfaces I made in paint to give the buildings a fake rib look. Is there a way thru custom profiles or composites (or any other way I don't know about) to get the 3d effect on the walls. I have tired custom profiles but that requires me to put a beam every foot and can't place a door or window on the wall. Thanks for the help.

You could use a wall accessory object or the image below is a quick test with Cadimage's Wall Covering tool.

Like everything in ArchiCAD, how you model it may depend on how you want to schedule it. Also, is depend on the rendering you need. Are you using a rendering program that can use bump maps ?

Have you checked out the Cadimage tools for this? I think the ArchiCAD add-on for this is called Coverings ?
