Tool changes from 8.1 to 17 (what happened to the shortcuts?

I just upgraded from Version 8.1 to 17. (Big leap, yes, I know, but it suited me well for 10+ years.) At this point I'm sorry I had to upgrade. For example, what happened to those handy shortcuts for navigating the stories (command-6 to go up a story; command-5 to go down; command-8 to hide or reveal the ghost story; command-4 to show story manager window, etc)? Is there some substitute or are they gone?
If there are no shortcuts how do we hide/reveal the ghost story w/ Version 17, anyhow?

No Mercedes shows up. Just a Volkswagen (just kidding).
Seriously, the palette that begins with the origin function and includes the pair of delta symbols has disappeared. Perhaps resurrecting that palette would solve the problem?

It's the Coordinates Palette and is still available... just turn it on. If you have a checkmark in front of it and don't see it, drag your other palettes around in case it is hidden behind one of them.

Everything you used to do is still possible - and a whole lot more.

You mean the Coordinate Palette?
Activate it with the Window\Palettes\Coordinates menu command.

very helpful info from both of you (Karl & Laszio)
I was able to bring the missing palettes to the desk top.
BUT........
After I closed the project file and then re-opened it those two palettes were disappeared from the desk top. So naturally I went to the Window/Palettes to see what was up....and they each were still checked in the palettes window.
So I unchecked them & closed the window. Then I re-opened the window & when I checked them they reappeared on the desk top.
I hope I don't have to go through this procedure every time I open the file?!
Is there something I can do to prevent this?

Once you have the palettes open and arranged to your liking, go to Work Environment > Palette Schemes (this is Workspace Schemes in AC 19) > it will say "Custom", click the Store as... button and save this scheme as part of your default Work Environment. Check the Help files for creating and saving your Default Work Environment.
