Tracing

If I want to trace an elevation of a house from a photo that I take myself, what is the best way to do it? I am asking because the photo it is hard to take it exactly with 90° angles or straight lines, so I always end up drawing it instead or tracing it!

You could try using the straightening tool in something like Photoshop or Lightroom to correct your perspective. "Filter => Adaptive Wide Angle" in Photoshop. Draw a line linking two points, right click and define as vertical or horizontal.

Just a tip on taking the photo. If you're able to and have the gear, get as far back from the building as you can and use your highest zoom lens to fill the frame. This will produce a much more "flattened" perspective with the least amount of foreshortening. The closer you get and wider the angle of the lens, the more disproportionate items become in relation to one another.

This looks like it would be very useful for tracing things
