Unable to edit using wall refence line in 3D window

I've been working in an office lately where they are all unable to edit walls in 3D using the reference line.
The tool is missing in the pet palette when I begin editing a wall - see attached image.

I'm able to do so on other computers not in this office, which leads me to think it must be a setting that has somehow been applied globally (?)

I've asked my local reseller, but they can't help me.

Can anyone out there assist?

thanks

Silly question but are you sure you are clicking on a node that is on the reference line?

I also see that the wall is part of a Group. If groups are not suspended, you can't change the wall lenght (but then the pet palette will also be without the buttons to change height and tilt of the wall...)

Incidentally. I discovered that if a single wall, part of a group, is showed in the 3D window (i.e. using the marquee on the plan view) it can be always fully edited as if groups were suspended. Is this a known feature?

Thanks for replies Barry & Roberto.

@Barry: yes, I'm definitely clicking on ref line node. Been using this feature in my own office for quite a while now so very familiar with the interface (not sure when functionality was added, but I've been using ArchiCAD since 1997)

As noted in my initial post, this problem seems to be machine-specific, or rather installation-specific, as it's not happening with my own installation in my office - only in the office of the architects I'm currently working for.
No-one here has any idea how it happened and have just been working around it.

Has anyone seen this before and managed to fix?

Further info: I'm able to click anywhere along the length of the reference line (except at end nodes, as noted previously) to create a new node, adding further mystery to the situation.
