License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hey guys,

Is there a tool that can convert lower case text into uppercase like how there is one in MS word.

Cheers.

Sadly enough there is still no possibility in this "richt text editor" of AC to uppercase or lowercase chars.

I am sure it could be done with an add-on if someone wanted to make one (I have no idea how).

I have done it within an object that has text by simply looking at each character and then swapping - i.e. if "a" then "A", if "b" then B", etc.

Of course this does not help with regular text in the editor.

If I had to do this, this is how I would do it:
1. Select the Text Block, click into it for editing, then select all and copy it to the Clipboard.
2. Open Word, paste the Text into it.
3. Make the modifications to UPPERCASE there. Select All Text, Copy to Clipboard.
4. Paste Text back into Text Block clicked for editing, overwriting previous instance of text.

The formatting is preserved pretty well.
The size of fonts is not totally correct for me, for example a 3 mm text comes back as 2.96 mm, but this is something I could live with. Or just set it back to 3 mm.

This may also work with OpenOffice and the like, Google Docs, etc. I have not tried those though.

I just wanted to wake this thread up from the dead.

I was messaged Case Conversion Options, during the release of 24.

I searched for it in the help bar, it was there. and then it wasn't.

I see you are in New Zealand.
Central Innovation has a text conversion tool for version 24.
That is probably what you have seen.

Just adding to what Barry noted, we've released a new tool with AC24 to convert the case of text throughout the project (or targeting text in specific views). Many case types are supported, and exceptions can be defined (text that should always maintain a specific case). I've attached the manual for reference.
