our office is currently changing the way ArchiCAD is being used...hopefully more along the lines of the way it should be used!
Can anyone explain to me the Zone tool, and what it's used for? I haven't quite figured out its benefits.
Thanks!

It can be used to create Finish Schedules (since the Zone objects include parameters for finishes) and Door Schedules (since doors can report what Zones they go To and From).

It is also the way to figure out the area of a given space or the entire building.

Here is a discussion about the Zone Tool. That may be of interest.
I use it like Bob Moore, and have created a Zone Stamp that woks with the Interactive Scheduler (Thanks Karl O.) the give me a report that I link to the Layouts in Plotmaker.
